Two years of investment gone: Blazers trade Sebastian Telfair to Celtics for 7th pick in today's NBA draft, according to ESPN.
It will be interesting to see what the Blazers do with their other pics today. NBA draft begins today at 4pm.

Beavers make their way to the college world series championship with a chance to win it all for the first time ever! Oregon State will face the Tar Heels of North Carolina. If you live in Portland, did you even know the Beavers were in the CWS (college world series)?
There is such a media absence of the OSU's success it is disheartening. Last year, when they went to the CWS for the first time since the 50's it was big news. That year they were promptly beaten and sent home. This year, they are vying for it all and where is the buzz? I hope it increases.
If this were the football team, not even a snail would be able to hide from knowing about it. Too bad our culture is so biased against so many sports. It's all about the money. Football is big money. Just look at the investment in the respective stadiums. Well, I for one am starting to become more and more of a baseball fan. I used to say I'd rather watch paint dry than a baseball game. It may be that my in-laws have had undue influence, but I believe it was just ignorance. I didn't understand the game. Now I know more about it and thoroughly enjoy it.
All that to say, GO BEAVS!
6-26 UPDATE: Beavers have split 2 games with NC. The deciding game is this afternoon at 4pm. Watch it on ESPN or listen 1360AM & 1080AM in Portland.

Finished Don Miller & John MacMurry's new book. Easy to read and goes by quickly, I found it more enjoyable than Blue Like Jazz. This one probably isn't as well written, but I appreciate some of the conclusions in they reach. This book wrestles with the idea of God as Father in a practical way that I have ever experienced before, though have thought about often. I think we all have tried to figure out what God as Father looks like, and though my experience was nothing like Don's he still relates some emotions and thoughts that are universal to experiencing God. Definitely worth the library check out.

Saw X-3 the other day. I enjoyed it very much and do recomend it. The theme of discrimination continues, only with a twist. As with any sequal it stays the same but is different. When I saw the first two I was very surprised how good they were. I thought they'd be horrible. I will say 3 isn't as good, didn't have as much depth (not that summer blockbusters are known for depth).
Tuesday I was told that I missed a key component of the story. It comes after the credits roll. So, if you see X-3, don't leave until the very end.

Congratulations everybody, it's Friday. For those of you who don't get "weekends" because of work, don't be offended. I don't mean to rub it in. I only work 20 hours a week, and Monday was a holiday, but for some reason this week seemed long to me. Happy day it's Friday!
