While out for a run this evening Carolyn shared this realization with me while we were ascending a steady incline-
“Hell is like running up hill-forever. Heaven is like riding your bike down hill.”

Last weekend I ran my second triathlon. It went well for going on 3 hours sleep and remnants of being sick. The reason I bring it up is the difference between events. The first event was in Oregon. The second obviously here in Arkansas, but it started with prayer & corporate recitation of the Lord's Prayer. That would never happen in Portland. To reiterate how different Arkansas is to Portland, here is the sign that greets drivers on the East entrance to town.

...that can't be found in Arkansas.
- Henry Weinhard’s Root Beer
- Fresh Salsa (I don't know why, but not a single grocery store has any kind of fresh salsa). We're still looking for a good alternative to our favorite Reser's Baja Cafe Salsa.
- Adam’s Peanut Butter
Though these items can't be found, I'm willing to let them go because we can get Tillamook Cheese! I do believe that Tillamook's medium chedder is one of my favorite things I wouldn't be able to do without.

"To the best of our knowledge, it's the first time we've encoutered this problem in flight." Air Canada Jazz spokeswoman Manon Stuart, on one of the airline's pilots being locked out of the cockpit minutes before landing-after returning from the bathroom. The crew removed the door from its hinges and the pilot landed the plane safely.

Here is the video you've all been waiting for since the post from August 19th. This video was how the J. Alvin RA team introduced themselves to the 400 new freshman. As the video ended we came out from backstage & some ran through the crowd from the back of the cathedral for some live action wrestling on the stage. Needless to say there was much cheering and chaos. The men of J. Alvin were the only wrestlers, though the other resident hall skits included super-women heros and TV personalities. Enjoy:

Last night we had the first ever J. Alvin Cereal Night. Picking up on an old white hall tradition I thought it'd be a good way to hang out with some of the guys and make them feel welcome in our apartment. We started about 9pm. Lasted well past the 12:30 mark. We had about 90 guys enjoying the wonder that is cereal late at night. As we were heading for bed I went for my wallet. Alas, it was not to be found. So, after searching the house we headed to the dumpster, just in case. We dove in, not finding anything. Got an email this morning. It's found.
