Dell

Before moving to Arkansas, we bought a new Dell laptop. We've had problems with it in some form or another since it was 2 months old. Now it even at 3 years old yet and it's shot. I thought I'd at least get 5 years out of it, but it looks like it's done. I've had it worked on, only to come back in worse shape. I'm going to try one more shot at repair, but it looks like the motherboard is basically falling apart. Any recommendations on a good replacement would be? I'm seriously considering a Mac at this point.

Dude-you won't be sorry with a Mac. You'll never go back.....

I had a hard time deciding to switch to Mac. I had always been a strictly PC girl, and lets face it, Macs are overpriced, more difficult to customize so you pay for features you don't want or need, has less software options, and is more difficult to upgrade. BUT, I was getting really tired of spending as much time trying to maintain my PC as I was actually using it. I used my Dad's computer with Vista installed once and I thought, "If this is the future of PC, I'm getting out now." So we got the Mac, and despite its faults, I have never regretted it. Not for one second.

I think I agree. Lori, I really enjoyed using your Mac to make that video last summer. Much more intuitive, but I'm thinking the overpriced is worth it.

You can try a refurb. It is WAY cheaper than getting it new. That is what we did and we saved a lot of money. We've never had problems with it.

Hey Greg! We switched to apple a few years ago and love it. We haven't had any problems, other than our ignorance on certain programs. Steve still has his same computer over 3 years later, and it runs like the day he got it. (We had to get a different one for me, because we kept dropping it. The poor little computer could hardly open & shut!) Anyway, we highly recommend apple.
